When Sunshine Is Not As Helpful As Advertised

To say I hate sunshine is a bit of an understatement.  I actually prefer lots of cloud.  At least then I can function as a reasonably normal human being.

Don’t get me wrong – I understand that other people seem to love sunshine.  I have also heard about the health benefits of being outside in sunny weather (skin cancer not included of course).

If you find me a seat in shade I will happily sit in it.  Just don’t ask me to move very far from my seat.

As you may already be aware – I suffer from something called Photophobia.  This means I wear something called “Transition” lenses (formerly known as “Reactolite”).  To be honest – nothing works as well for me in bright wall-to-wall sunshine as being told I don’t have to go anywhere though.

I must be one of the few people in existence for whom sunshine actually raises stress levels.  It can also tire me out mentally extremely quickly.

So – next time the weather is sunny please spare a thought for those of us who would rather it was cloudy.
